PROJECTIONS is the first comprehensive publication about her work, and features texts and images by other artists and musicians. At the center of her work are always questions of time and space, making memory spaces accessible and thus interlacing real and filmic spaces, present and past, and travels in real space and in projections. In her video works, Schmid uses the technique of projection in various ways: she films on the road, from moving cars and trains, and in turn films the projections of these movies while moving, she projects films onto bodies and landscapes, and realizes concert projects for the stage. | |
