| Die Situation von Hausangestellten in Pakistan ist miserabel. Laut Studien werden 91 Prozent der weiblichen Hausangestellten sexuell missbraucht. „Formation Awarness & Community Empowerment Society“ (FACES Pakistan) ist eine NGO, die es sich zum Ziel gesetzt hat, die Rechte von Hausangestellten zu verbessern. Darüber, wie diese mit unterschiedlichen Projekten die Situation von einigen Hausangestellten verbessern könne, berichtet die Generalsekretärin von FACES, Elaine Alam. Millions of people around the globe are involved in domestic work i.e. domestic work of others’ households. This trend is very common in both the developed and developing countries, however difference can be found among the treatment of domestic workers and housemaids in both worlds. Domestic service in Pakistan is an unorganized and unregulated form of work. However, despite being one of the largest occupations in Pakistan, there is no fi xed wage structure for full-time, live-in or part-time and it varies according to localities, economic status of employer and the type of work performed. | |
