This case study focuses on rural women in the Northwest Province of Cameroon. It discusses rural women as actors in the arena of a development project, rural women as part of cicil society and rural women as social actors. It shows the involvement of these women in mass protests, their fights for democracy, and also their struggle to improve their participation in all fields of social action, from family level to the economic sphere and the political arena of local government. At the beginning of the book the author describes her research method which is grounded theory and also gives an introduction about Cameroon and the Northwest Province in general.
