Beschreibung:
This special issue of Agenda is dedicated to the memory of Mikki van Zyl, an independent scholar and activist working in the fields of sexual rights, sexuality, justice and the rights of lesbian women. It offers an interdisciplinary focus on non-normative sexuality and gender diversities in Eastern and Southern Africa – Uganda, Kenya, Malawi, Zambia and South Africa. The articles also seek in some way to theorise and engage with the question of what it means to be ‘non-normative’ in a continent that appears increasingly resistant towards same-sex identification, experience and pleasure.
